Social Program

EMBC 2023 will include networking opportunities through an engaging social program. The major events are outlined below.

  • The Welcome Reception is included in your registration.

    We invite you to the first networking event of the Conference; enjoy an evening of networking whilst indulging in delicious appetizers and fine Australian beverages.

  • The purpose of the “Lunch with Leaders” student event is to provide an opportunity for students to meet and interact with leaders in their field of interest. This event is organized to give students a chance to learn from these leaders, ask questions, and gain insight into various careers and leadership roles. The overall goal is to inspire and motivate students, helping them to see the impact they can have in their field of interest and career.

  • The Student and Young Professionals Reception is not included in your registration.

    This event provides an opportunity for individuals to connect, build relationships, and exchange information and ideas with others in their field or industry. The purpose of such events is to help attendees expand their professional network, gain knowledge and insights, and potentially open up new career, research or business opportunities.

    Small plates and 2x drinks will be provided.

  • EMBS cordially invites to The Women in Engineering (WiE) Reception at EMBC. Come experience and explore the possibilities in your career aspirations and plans.   • Please join EMBS as we celebrate Women in Engineering (WiE).

    The WiE lunch has been replaced by a full day WiE event, showcasing leading Women in Engineering as our Keynote Speakers and Panel.
    Running concurrently with the 45th International IEEE-EMBS Conference, attendees can participate the WIBME forum launching EMBS’s strategic initiative of providing women in biomedical engineering with the opportunity to network with female academics, clinicians, researchers, and industry professionals, discuss career trajectories, and gain new perspective on opportunities for advancement in the field.
