EMBC 2026 Conference Policy: Children Onsite
The EMBC 2026 Conference is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and professional environment for all attendees. We recognize that participants may have caregiving responsibilities and aim to accommodate families where possible, while maintaining the integrity of the conference experience.
Designated Lactation and Family Areas
- A dedicated lactation room will be available onsite for nursing parents.
- The conference will provide a Parent/Family Lounge with comfortable seating and basic amenities.
- When technically feasible, selected conference sessions will be streamed into the lounge to allow parents and caregivers to remain engaged while attending to children.
Supervision of Minors
- All minors must be accompanied and actively supervised by a parent or legal guardian at all times while in conference spaces.
- The conference does not provide childcare services. Parents and guardians are encouraged to make independent childcare arrangements when possible.
Restricted Access
- Minors are not permitted to attend any onsite events where alcohol is served, including but not limited to receptions, dinners, and networking functions.
- Access to certain technical sessions or areas may be restricted due to safety considerations or content appropriateness. Any such restrictions will be clearly indicated in the conference program and through onsite signage.
Code of Conduct and Responsibility
- All attendees, including minors, are expected to comply with the EMBC Conference Code of Conduct. Disruptive behaviour may result in removal from the venue without refund.
- Parents and legal guardians assume full responsibility for the safety, supervision, and conduct of any child in their care during the conference.
- To ensure a positive experience for all participants, if a child becomes distressed or disruptive during a session, parents or guardians are kindly asked to step outside the session until the child is settled.
