We are inviting proposals for half-day workshops at EMBC26.
Pre-conference workshops are educational sessions that focus on current and future trends in biomedical engineering, as well as technology development in medicine and health care. The workshop should focus on a topic of interest to EMBC attendees at different levels (students, postdocs, independent researchers). Workshops will take place on Sunday July 26, 2026, between 8AM-12PM and 1PM-5PM.
A workshop may be delivered by a group of leading researchers and pioneers in their respective areas. Workshops are expected to provide a classroom-like experience with hands-on learning and networking opportunities.
Important notes regarding workshops;
- Workshop organizers and workshop speakers are expected to be present and facilitate the workshop by their own means and provide any materials required for the workshop.
- Workshop organizers are encouraged to promote their scheduled workshop and to actively engage with the society in promotional efforts for the workshop.
- A recommendation of 3-6 speakers who will deliver the workshop should be provided
- Workshop speakers/teachers and registrants are required to pay all relevant travel costs
Your proposal should include the following information:
- Title
- Summary: A brief description of no more than 200 words intended for publication that will allow conference attendees to understand the topic and the focus.
- Rationale: An explanation of why the topic is novel, why it is relevant to the EMBS community, and how it fits within the themes of this conference.
- Duration (half day): The length of the individual talks.
- Contact information for proposer(s): Their name, affiliation, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- Speaker information: The title of each speaker’s talk, along with their full name, affiliation, email address, a one-paragraph biography, 1–2 relevant citations related to their proposed talk, and a link to their webpage to support the assessment of their scientific rigor.
- Target audience: Details of who the workshop is attended for.
- Confirmation from each of the speakers that they have agreed to present the workshop
- Evidence of any necessary company and governmental clearance obtained prior to submission of proposals, if relevant
- The workshop speakers are not expected to submit papers related to their workshop talks, and their talks will not appear in the proceedings of the conference.
Please note that if an insufficient number (e.g. <20) of people register for the workshop, the workshop may be cancelled.
