Currency

The official currency is the Great British Pound (£). Most banks are open in the morning (from 09.00) and in the afternoon hours and generally closed after 17.00. Major credit cards are accepted at most cash points (ATM machines), stores, restaurants and hotels. Contactless payment is accepted in most stores, restaurants and hotels.

Language

English is the national language spoken by the staff hotels, restaurants and shops.

Scotland’s international pre-dial is +44 (0) 141. Public places like airports, universities, libraries, restaurants and cafés may offer “free”-WiFi Hotspots. Free WiFi is available for delegates at the SEC centre.

Electricity

The United Kingdom use type G plug with three rectangular pins in a triangular pattern. United Kingdom operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz.

The British Summer Time (BST) is one hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT); UTC+01:00.
